Babcock University Vows To Punish Student Seen In Viral Video Beating A Fellow 100-Level Student Over Slippers

The management of Babcock University has reacted to the viral video showing a student of the University reportedly beat up a fellow student because he wore his slippers.

The video currently trending on social media captured the moment a student mercilessly beat up another student while questioning him on why he wore his slippers.

A student privy to the fight said the victim is a younger student and he was getting assaulted because he wore his roommate’s slippers.

Thepledge also learnt that it was not the first time the student was being bullied as he had previously had his phone damaged and had been sleeping away from his room to avoid clashes with his fellow roommates.

Both students are said to be in 100 level.

In the video, the senior student who appeared extremely furious could be heard insulting the other as he landed heavy blows and slaps on the younger student.

A part of the video showed him jacking up the other boy in an attempt to slam him on the floor.

Reacting to the incident, Director of Communication and Marketing, Joshua Suleiman said the management was already taking action on the matter, adding that the institution does not sweep such issues under the carpet.

According to him, the students (including those who were in the room while the incident occurred) have been summoned and may possibly face expulsion and suspension.

“We are already taking action already. It’s something we can’t gloss over. The students have been summoned and they may possibly face expulsion and suspension,” Suleiman said.

Another official who did not want his name mentioned, told Thepledge Babcock University has a zero tolerance for bullying, gangsterism and even fight among students of any sort.

The official also confirmed that all those involved are 100 level students “who have barely spent two months with us.

He said the students have been invited to the Student Disciplinary meeting for interrogation, assuring that the appropriate actions and punishments will be given in due course.

“We will not let it slide. It only shows the type of upbringing he had,” the official said.
